Norman J. Azevedo is a lifelong resident of Nevada. He offers reasonable rates to assist people with legal problems and questions regarding tax matters, wills, trusts, estates, forming business entities and other business and personal issue. Mr. Azevedo handles all types of state and local taxation legal matters. He has represented large corporations, casinos, and small businesses in different types of tax cases, including sales and use tax audit deficiency cases and requests for refunds.
Mr. Azevedo worked for the Nevada Attorney General's Office as its Regional Chief of the Civil Division prior to starting his own law office. Mr. Azevedo has successfully argued cases before the Nevada Supreme Court in tax matters while working at the Attorney General's Office. While at the Attorney General's Office, he represented the Nevada Tax Commission, the State Board of Equalization and the Committee on Local Government Finance. He has extensive knowledge of the Nevada Open Meeting Law, and is very familiar with its application to public bodies, boards and commissions.
Mr. Azevedo represents a variety of property owners challenging their property taxes. In addition, he has also handled probate, estates, wills and trusts matters.
Mr. Azevedo has an LLM in taxation, and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Azevedo presents lectures at sales and use tax seminars, as well as seminars on Nevada's Open Meeting law.
